In a world of on demand services, people want things as fast as possible.  The printing industry is no different.  More and more printing companies are marketing themselves online and for two good reasons, easy communication and to provide efficient service to their customers.

Online printing is also advantageous because of the flexible schedule that is available.  That being said, you should always communicate with your printers about your deadlines.  This ensures that you are aware their schedule and they are aware of yours.  Always be sure to give the company time to complete the project.  Provide them with all your files and documents in order for the project to be completed with quick efficiency.  Be sure to discuss the delivery time and specifics, as this will play a large part in your deadline.  Be aware of where the company you choose is located.  This may cost you time and money.

Avoid Errors When Sending Your Work to Be Printed

It can be a costly mistake, sending a project to the printers only to get it back and realize there are typographical errors.  The more copies you are having printed, the more costly typos can be.  To ensure that no errors are sent to your online printer, here a few simple tricks for editing.

  • Print a paper copy

Print a paper copy of your document before you send it to the printer.  It is easier to edit from a paper rather than the computer screen.  Editing on paper is the ideal way to see what mistakes you may have made, and minimize strain on the eyes.

  • Edit tomorrow

If time is available, it is always ideal to leave the editing for the day after the writing has happened.  This way, when editing, you have a fresh and rested mind.

  • Read backward

A very useful trick to ensure that you have caught every error you can.  By reading backwards, we force ourselves to see the document differently, and therefore are more likely to catch mistakes.

By following these tricks, you can significantly minimize the amount of typos you have in your documents, and the cost of having them back to the printers to be re-done.
